Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City Announces Arrival of Whimsical New Eatery “Sammy D’s” From BR Guest Hospitality
(Atlantic City, N.J.) – Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City is proud to welcome Sammy D’s, the newest restaurant concept from notable Chef Sam DeMarco in partnership with Stephen Hanson and BR Guest Hospitality, set to open January 2012.
Chef Sam DeMarco will bring his vast experience in the restaurant industry to Atlantic City with the opening of the highly anticipated Sammy D’s. Hailed as one of the most respected and talented chefs in the country, DeMarco opened his first restaurant, aptly named First, in NYC’s Lower East Side and has since been involved with numerous projects in New York and Las Vegas, where he has been residing for more than 10 years. In 2008 Demarco strengthened his roots in Vegas with the opening of First Food & Bar at the Palazzo Hotel. Now, DeMarco is eager to bring his celebrated creations back to the East Coast. “I’m excited to be closer to home, working in the same house as my old friend, Luke Palladino,” said Chef Sam DeMarco, “We are here to cook our hearts out for the people of AC!”
“I’ve known Sammy since he opened First in the ’90s,” said Stephen Hanson, president & founder, B.R. Guest Restaurants. “He is a true culinary talent who has always brought a fun perspective and exciting twist to all of his projects. I’ve wanted to work with him for a long time and I’m glad we have finally found the perfect project to collaborate on.”

The restaurant will be an all-day, all-night, all-you-could-ask-for eatery, serving fan favorites in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The retro coffee shop meets friendly pub will put forth a coffee table book menu, setting the tone for “Sammy D’s house” – a place where you can sit back, relax and enjoy nostalgic East Coast favorites.
The Sammy D’s menu will feature round-the-clock eats to satisfy every craving, including Food Truck Breakfasts, Shambles & Appetizers, “SAM”wiches and even Chinese Take Out, all done with the famous Sammy D twist. Whether you’re a New Englander or New Yorker, Jersey Shore or Maryland beach dweller, Sammy D’s celebrates East Coast classics like Narragansett Fried Clams, Lower East Side Matzoh Ball Soup, Philly Cheesesteak Dumplings and Maryland Crab Cakes with Crispy Grit Sticks. The restaurant will be open for brunch, lunch, dinner and early morning bites, perfect for late night revelers looking to indulge after a night out.
Keeping in tradition with the food concept, Sammy D’s beverage program is approachable, featuring canned classics and seasonal bottles. Every wine on the list is available by the glass, half bottle or bottle. Specialty cocktails will come in pint-sized glasses at affordable prices or in fishbowls for sharing.
Sammy D’s will occupy the space of the former Reflections Café located across from The Pool, an oasis of relaxation by day which transforms into an award winning club by dark, recipient of the prestigious Mega-Club of the Year Award 2011 from Nightclub & Bar magazine. The décor perfectly complements the food – it’s a clean, classic, welcoming environment reminiscent of your favorite childhood diner, but with a twist. The open concept provides a community feel as guests relax in the tufted banquettes and soak in the vintage, old-school aesthetic. The focal point of the space is the brand new oval-shaped bar, perfect for enjoying a fishbowl with a group of friends. Art deco and old library lamps provide warm lighting throughout that bounces off the walls adorned with sepia and black & white East Coast imagery and mural-scapes in the bar area.
Sammy D’s is the latest addition to the culinary revolution taking way across the Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City properties. Earlier this summer the brand opened three restaurants in collaboration with BR Guest Hospitality: Dos Caminos, Atlantic Grill and Bill’s Bar and Burger at Harrah’s Resort. Additionally, beloved Philadelphia chefs Luke Palladino and Chris Scarduzio brought their famous flavors to Caesars Entertainment with the opening of Luke Palladino at Harrah’s Resort and Scarduzio’s at Showboat.
